Lifetime Warranty Policy

Every Shield is covered from day one by a lifetime warranty. If a component is damaged in an accident during cycling or athletic use, or fails because of a manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace it. This policy explains what is covered, how to claim, and how shipping works.

Quick facts: lifetime coverage from day 1 · first 30 days free with shipping included · $13 to $25 typical claim shipping after

01 · What the lifetime warranty covers
Your Shield is protected for its lifetime against accidental damage that happens during cycling or normal athletic activity, and against manufacturing defects. If a component is damaged in an accident or fails because of a defect, we will repair or replace it.

Coverage includes, for example:

Lenses that are scratched, cracked or damaged in a crash, drop or impact while riding or training
Frames, hinges, nose pads or ear grips that crack or break in a crash, drop or impact
Drops and knocks that happen in the course of riding and normal handling
Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship

Put simply: drop them, crash them, ride them hard on the road. If an accident damages them, we have got you.

Covered parts
The warranty counts your Shield in parts. Anything that cannot be detached by hand belongs to the part it is attached to, so all the components of a part count as that one part.

The frame · one part, including the hinges, ear grips and every component fixed to it
Each lens · one part per lens
The detachable nose tip (nose pad) · one part

Only the parts listed above are covered.

02 · What is not covered
The warranty covers the product as long as it is used as intended. It does not cover normal wear and tear, or damage caused by using The Shield in a way it was clearly not designed for.

Normal wear and tear: gradual deterioration from regular use over time is not covered. This includes fine scratches from cleaning, wiping or storage, hinges that loosen over time, faded or worn coatings, nose pads or ear grips that wear down, harden or discolour, and ordinary cosmetic marks that do not affect function.

Warranty void: Damage that did not occur during cycling or normal athletic activity. For example: using the sunglasses as industrial or work eye protection, deliberately breaking them (such as hitting them with a hammer), or any other obvious misuse or abuse. Damage of this kind voids the warranty for the affected product.

Also not covered: accessories (such as the case, pouch and cleaning cloth), loss or theft of the product, and damage from unauthorized repairs or modifications.

03 · Who and what is covered
The lifetime warranty applies to the original purchaser and to the specific product purchased directly from GVTY at gvty.ca. Claims must be submitted from the same email address used to place the order, and we will need your order number or proof of purchase to process them. The warranty is non-transferable.

04 · Claims within the first 30 days
For the first 30 days after your package is delivered, warranty claims work just like our return policy. If something is wrong, we simply send you a new one, completely free, with shipping fully covered by us. Nothing to pay.

05 · Claims from day 31 onward
After the first 30 days, your product is still covered for life. Each claim has two costs: shipping, which you pay and which is handled as follows, and a claim fee of $5 CAD per part (explained below).

We arrange and provide the shipping. GVTY determines the shipping fee based on your location, and we create and provide the shipping label. You pay the shipping bill through Shopify at the time of your claim. You cannot buy your own label at Canada Post or from another carrier for a warranty claim, as the process runs through us.

How much shipping costs:

Shipping cost    Who pays
First $50 CAD    You. Your share is always the first $50, and for most locations the total cost lands within this, typically $13 to $25 CAD.
From $50 to $80 CAD    GVTY. We cover the cost above your $50, up to a further $30 from our own pocket.
Above $80 CAD    You. Any cost beyond the combined $80 is yours. We will always tell you the amount first, and you confirm whether you want to proceed before anything is charged.

Example: You live in Yukon, where shipping is far more expensive. You pay the first $50 CAD. We then cover the next $30. If the total still runs higher than $80, the remainder is on you, and we will confirm the exact amount with you before you decide whether to go ahead.

Claim fee
From day 31 onward, a claim fee of $5 CAD applies to each part you claim (see "Covered parts" in section 01), on top of shipping. For example, claiming the frame and one lens at the same time costs $10 CAD. Claims within the first 30 days are not affected.

Parts claimed at once    Claim fee
1 part    $5 CAD
2 parts    $10 CAD
3 parts    $15 CAD
Each part after that    An extra $5 CAD per part

GVTY reserves the right to determine the applicable shipping fee after the first 30 days.

06 · How to file a warranty claim
All claims start by email. Send a request to info@gvty.ca from the email address you used to place your order, and include:

Your order number or proof of purchase
A short description of the problem
One or two clear photos of the damage or defect

Our Canadian support team replies within 24 hours. We will confirm your coverage, calculate your shipping and claim fee (day 31 onward), send you the payment link and label through Shopify, and get your repair or replacement moving as soon as the item and any fee are received.

07 · Repair or replacement
We will repair the affected component or replace it, at our discretion. Where possible we replace only the part that failed, such as a single lens or a nose pad. If a specific component is no longer available, we will provide a comparable replacement of equal or greater value.
